Alice In Wonderland
Flowers have always been prevalent in Doris’ work. From fabric design to ceramic creations, it is Doris’ style to present her flower drawings in an elegant yet rustic way. One in which through the touch of the pen feels like a beautiful blend of classical European and calming Japanese styles. To show the most beautiful paintings on the curved parts of the ceramics. Doris cleverly incorporates underglaze techniques that allow her to carefully apply her paintings to the unglazed ware. Regardless of whether the product is a teapot or a teacup, she always finds ways to experiment until she can achieve perfection in the moment. In addition, the 3-dimensional ornaments are also one of the highlights of this exhibition as Doris introduces a wide variety of fantastical flower ornaments that are not only bold in color but full of spatial imagination; thus bringing a fresh new perspective to contemporary ceramic art.
